All members of the Ruthin Arts Network committee are creative people who have volunteered to give something back to the area in which they live. Research shows the benefits of artistic events to individuals and to communities. E.g. improved mental health, reduced isolation and improving community cohesion. The committee want to promote and enhance these benefits in their own community.
Mike Van Der Eijk is a playwright and town councillor.
Patricia Sumner is a published poet, children’s author and writer of educational books. She has won prizes for her poetry and plays. Pat also works as an editor and proofreader.
Tim Baker is an award-winning playwright and theatre director. Tim worked for many years at Theatre Clwyd and was also Artistic Director of the National Youth Theatre of Wales. Tim works in both Welsh and English and is a member of the Gorsedd of Bards.
