Ruthin Arts Network’s final event, on 11 th February in the Old Courthouse, was a lovely
evening enjoyed by all who attended.
Poets Diana Sanders, Andrew and Pat Sumner, and Leaf Pettit read a mixture of moving and
light-hearted poems, including some from their eco collection ‘I Am Nature: Environmental
Poetry’.
Then the Dyffryn Divas sang some toe-tapping songs, with wonderful harmonies, in both
Welsh and English. They sounded fantastic!
Thank you to them all for a great evening – and to Alan of Alannette Photography for
photographing the evening for us.
Finally, there was time for a drink and a chat with fellow creatives who we’ve come to know
over the last two years.
Although there will be no further events, and the RAN website will soon disappear, our
Facebook page (Ruthin Arts Network Group) will continue, so feel free to advertise local
artistic events on this page.
The final RAN social evening was a time to reflect on all we’ve achieved over the last two
years. Artists, craftspeople and creatives have met each other, networked and collaborated
as a result of RAN. Audiences have enjoyed our many guest speakers – textile artists,
photographers, poets, film-makers and musicians. We feel it has been a worthwhile venture
and we’re grateful to you all for being part of our journey.
We wish you well with all your future creative endeavours.
